She's brave and bold and, to be honest, a bit stupid. Heroine has to find three items (instead of trials), she is super special (and I couldn't figure out why), faery land is separated from the human world by some sort of barrier, faery land has seven courts each with own lord/ king. Practically the same: two fae males (polar opposites) who are 'in-love' with heroine and are remarkably like Rhysand and Rowan (but Rowan is TOG character). It is so similar that I'm surprised there hasn't been an accusation of plagiary. VERY similar to quite a few of Sarah J Maas' works, namely ACOTR. In my mind, if it's got explicit scenes in then it needs to be marketed as NA.Ģ. Call me old fashioned, but just because the heroine is young does not mean that the book should be classed as YA. So this is down as a YA novel, but there were some fairly explicit scenes. I did like it but it had a few problems for me.ġ. I always love fae stories and I was looking forward to reading this.
